And So We Just Keep On Keepin’ On…

I spent most of the day in FE yesterday, with my main goal being to set myself up as well as possible for the future, as I expected yesterday to be my last day in-game for a while. I built myself a Scoped Magnum Rimfire Rifle and then got myself set up to be able to craft Heavy Gunpowder and Heavy Rifle Ammo because buying ammo from vendors for this thing is just too damned expensive to make a habit of it. In between and during doing all of that I got a few missions in Watchtower and Trumbull done as well, and so I’m now level 16, almost halfway to 17. Not bad for a single day’s play.

Knowing the last day on the 7-day return was coming, I tried to buy a month’s game time, but it seems that right now GamersFirst isn’t really set up to handle buying FE game time with anything other than a credit card. I didn’t want to use a credit card so I bought an Ultimate Gamecard at the local CVS and got myself 1600 G1 credits but found I couldn’t use them for game time. So then I considered Gamestop and their 60-day special offer but discovered that those codes are apparently only good on new, not existing accounts. As annoying as that is, I guess since GamersFirst is really a free-to-play game company, it’s not too surprising that their setup isn’t designed to allow what I was trying to do.

When I logged out late last night, I figured that was it until October 12 (all the details on the F2P transition were released yesterday…check ‘em out here), but when I tried to log in earlier I found that I can still get in. I have no idea why that is, but I’m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. As long as I can keep logging in, I’ll keep going and keep posting here.  When the holidays get here I’ll be a bit more financially solvent and I expect I’ll get some kind of premium account (it’s good to have wealthy and generous relatives), but for now and the next few months I’ll have those 1600 G1 credits to play with, so life, or at least FE life, is good right now.

And now, it’s time to take advantage of this minor miracle and go find more stuff to blog about…
